Edited: This was first posted in 2013. In fact the pictures bore the watermark of my blog's first web address.
The first time I set foot in Rome, I already knew  that it would be my favorite city.

Rome is both the capital of Italy and the  Lazio Region. It is one of the world's most important tourist destination. Its historic centre is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The Vatican Museums and the Colosseum are included in  the world's 50 most visited tourist. Other tourist sites  includes the ruins of the Roman Forum, Piazza Spagna, FOntana di Trevi, Pantheon, Castel Sant'angelo and  among many others.

Millions of pilgrims flock to the city every year. This  includes pilgrimages to St Peter’s basilica and the other three major basilicas namely: the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano,  the Basilica di San Paolo Fuori le Mura, where St Paul is believed buried, and the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore.

What makes Rome sets apart is in having a sovereign state within its territory, the Vatican City which is owned by the Holy See.

Transportation in Rome is not a problem. There's the underground metro system called the Metropolitan  have two lines, Line A(red) and Line B (blue). Construction is on going for Line C though constructions is often delayed  because archaeological findings. Another option   are the city buses and trams and urban trains. But for me, the city can be best strolled  in foot.
