A TASTE OF CHIANG RAI

We were treated to a sumptuous dinner buffet featuring local cuisine of Chang Rai at the Dusit Hotel.
 
 
 
It was made more "native" because they used banana leaves to wrap and serve the foods and plates/trays were  made from bamboo.I was able to talk to the restaurant manager and she told me that they did the back to basic set up in observance of  Earth Hour.

 
 
 
 
Foods would usually  have to be served at the garden but due to strong winds they decided to move it inside.
 
There was one  dish that i tried, all  ingredients are fresh as in fresh crablets and vegetables, no cook needed, they only used mortar and pestle.I almost didn't ate it but when I tasted it was delicious. I would have liked to stay a bit longer here but too bad we need to catch up the  the hotel's shuttle van going to the night market.
The morning after, they served again local dishes aside from the usual continental buffet.
