BERLIN - THE MILLENIUM CITY

I had the chance to tour Berlin, the Millenium City, for free..

It was still around September   when I went there but the temperature is like winter already, like its 5°C degrees in the morning and rain showers in the afternoon..I was literally shivering and quivering with my autumn jacket. I did checked the weather forecast and the temp should only be 12-15°C but when I arrived in Berlin,it was half down  the temp forecasted for that week.

On our first day, we took the hop on hop off tourist bus to go around the city.. almost all the tourist spots are on the tourist bus stops..Since our ticket is good for 1 whole day ,We did not go down the bus the fist time we rode because we have our appointment at the Reichstag Building /Bundestag.
It was already passed lunch time when we went down of the Dome .While  waiting for our tourist bus,we tried the famous  German wurstel on the stall located near the parliament building.

before We rode again the tourist bus we went to see the Brandenburg Gate and the Jewish Holocaust Memorial site which are both near the Bundestag. We then hopped on and off the bus to Charlottenburg Palace, Checkpoint Charlie,Berlin wall and Gendarmenmarkt Square. It was already getting late and colder that we decided to back to Novohotel, our home in Berlin, to change to more warmer clothes before we went back to Kudam and had our dinner at KADEWE mall foodcourt. BTW, shopping malls closes at 8pm.

Second day, after feasting on the hotel's complimentary buffet breakfast, we visited Nikolai Viertel which is just 2 blocks away then we walked our way to Alexander Platz where the TV tower , Berliner Fernsehturm, is located.Near the famous platz is the Berliner Dome.

While my companion went on shopping I on the otherhand went around the city and tried their very efficient subway train: I was able to visit  Postdamer platz where the Sony Center is... the Museum Island and nearby places across the River Spree .Getting around the city is a breeze with its reliable transportations , most notable is the Hauptbanhoff.

After 2 hours, I met again with my companion and off we went to Kudam had some shopping at Europa Center and bought some wurstel at the grocery to take back home.

Our last day, we went out for some walk before heading to the airport for our flight back home. I asked my companion to see the Museum island,at first  she was hesitant because she hates museum but when she finally saw it she regretted having gone shopping instead of coming with me.
All in all, it was fun and I did really enjoyed that trip save for the chilling because of the cold weather and the turbulence that we encountered minutes before the plane landed...
