HERITAGE OF CEBU MONUMENT


The Heritage Monument of Cebu in the city's Parian Distrcit is a tableau of sculptures made of concrete, bronze,brass and steel showing scenes about the events and structures related to Cebu.



The structures depicted are Basilica of Sto. Nino, Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, The Saint Joseph the Baptist Church, Magellan's Cross and the Spanish Galleon.


The scenes depicted are the baptism of Rajah Humabon, a procession of the Sto. Nino, a ROman Catholic mass, and the Battle of Mactan.

The persons depicted are the late president Sergio Osmena Sr., and Blessed Pedro Calungsod, now a Saint.
The monument's location was used to be the St. John the Baptist church, demolished in 1875. Parian District, which  during the Spanish era was home to the residences of Cebu's most prominent family, most notably is the old Yap-San Diego ancestral house located just across the street.
